BP Comes to the Northeast



This is obviously because of Exxon and Getty pulling out of the retail market, the same reason Irving and Phillips 66 have moved into the area. BP used to have a presence here 30 years ago. I remember one in Falmouth, back when their logo looked like this:



Those stations, as far as I remember, eventually became Gibbs gas stations. And the Gibbs stations eventually became Hess stations.

Out west, BP stations are known for their modern design, but around here they're just basic redressings of existing stations and they don't look very modern.
